Payroll/Benefits Specialist


This position supports day to day processing of payroll and benefit administration.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • 3-5 years’ work experience processing payroll for 200+ employees
  • Proficient with Excel
  • Proficient with Word
  • Proficient with Outlook
  • Dynamics/Great Plains software experience preferred
  • On the Clock – timecard reporting system experience preferred
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll paperwork, including benefits, direct deposits, W-4s, salary changes, etc for new and current employees
  • Perform routine computation of wages for 3 companies; 2 companies semi-monthly, 1 monthly
  • Transfer gross pay amounts from wage calculation worksheets to payroll system
  • Process paychecks
  • Transmit payroll taxes
  • Process occasional off-cycle paycheck
  • Payment of all quarterly payroll taxes
  • Yearend reconciliations and W-2s
  • Respond to employee paycheck questions
  • Assist and support accounting group as needed
  • Assist Human Resources with benefits administration
  • Other duties as assigned
